How can I have an item appraised?
To request an Appraisal, simply fill in our online form. You will be asked to provide photos of the item(s) as well as characteristic information.
How much does an Appraisal cost?
Appraisals prior to sale are free of charge. However, in the case of
appraisals that are not specific to an auction, fees may apply. These costs are clearly indicated before any commitment is made.
How long does an Appraisal take?
The time required to obtain an Appraisal varies according to the quantity and nature of the items to be processed. Generally, you will receive an Appraisal within 48 hours.

How do I know if my item is suitable for auction at PENELOPE'S?

PENELOPE’S. When certain items sell better through other channels, they will guide you towards the most suitable solution.
What happens after the Appraisal?
When you decide to sell your item(s) after Appraisal, we
assist you every step of the way. From depositing or sending your items, to signing the
sales contract, right through to final payment.
What is a reserve price and how is it determined?
The reserve is the minimum amount below which you do not agree to sell your item. It generally corresponds to the reserve price and is set in consultation with our
experts according to the Appraisal, market demand and sales strategy.
The reserve amount is indicated on the sales contract.
How much does it cost to sell an item at auction?
Commission fees apply when your item is sold at auction. These fees are a percentage of the hammer price. They cover the costs of the sale: expertise, photography and cataloguing, storage and insurance, marketing and communication

Is my item insured during the sales process?
Yes, all items entrusted to our auction house are insured from the time they are deposited in
our offices until they are collected. This insurance covers the risks of loss, theft or
damage.
When and how do I get paid after selling my item?
Once your item has been sold at auction, you will receive net payment (auction price
minus commission) within 30 days. Payment is
by bank transfer.
What if my item doesn't sell?
If your item does not sell at auction, we offer you the option of resale or return. No fee is charged.
