We haven’t quite noticed it yet, but fashion has shifted gears. Runways no longer dictate trends, nor do magazines. Everyone, standing in front of their mirror, has become their own stylist. The return of the ’90s that we see everywhere—on people’s shoulders, in store windows, on Vinted—may be just the tip of the iceberg of a deeper shift: the end of dictates, the fading of norms, and the emergence of a freedom that sometimes feels like a game and other times like liberation.
