Julie de Libran, a renowned figure in French design, is auctioning an exceptional part of her wardrobe, including a selection of pieces created during her time as Sonia Rykiel’s artistic director. This sale is a continuation of his Vintage Closet, long sold on the home page of his website. More than 300 lots tell the story of his singular approach to feminine style – designed for today’s active woman – and testify to an international career spent working for some of the most influential houses in contemporary fashion.
Trained at Gianfranco Ferré and Gianni Versace, then working directly with Miuccia Prada for ten years, Julie de Libran then headed Louis Vuitton’s women’s studio under Marc Jacobs. In 2014, she took over as Artistic Director of Sonia Rykiel, reinterpreting its heritage with brio – fusing emblematic knitwear with architectural minimalism.
When, in 2019, she launched her eponymous house, – Julie de Libran Paris – which parades as a guest of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, she inscribed her work in a responsible approach – archival fabrics, limited series, made-to-order – and thus founded a couture label celebrated for its exacting craftsmanship and enduring elegance, a veritable manifesto against obsolescence.
The sale features pieces by Louis Vuitton, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Alaïa, Balenciaga, Maison Martin Margiela… plus an impressive collection of shoes and the iconic silhouettes she designed for Sonia Rykiel.
Together, they create a portrait of a woman with Parisian style, tinged with cosmopolitan sophistication: a free-spirited allure with glamorous classicism, supported by an exceptional mastery of clothing.
For Julie de Libran, fashion has always been inseparable from the women she dresses. It was therefore obvious that this sale should be part of a gesture of solidarity, in aid of the Maison des Femmes Re-Start association, which supports women who are victims of violence or who are in a precarious situation.
Here, each piece finds a particular strength: style and commitment respond to each other, giving each the freedom to express who she is, while supporting those who are rebuilding their future. A tribute to freedom and solidarity.

The association Maisons des Femmes Restart supports and coordinates the deployment of Maisons des Femmes throughout France and abroad. These structures fight to reduce sexist and sexual violence, with care as the gateway. In their hospital units, women in difficulty or victims of violence are cared for with a multidisciplinary approach (medico-social care, legal and administrative support, etc.) based on the principle of a one-stop shop.
The association also runs “Mon Palier”, a home for young girls who have been victims of violence, and carries out a wide range of training and awareness-raising initiatives, particularly for public officials (healthcare workers, police officers, military personnel), businesses and young people.
Finally, with 32 structures already in place and 20,000 victims
supported each year, it lobbies public authorities.
